iPods for Audio Field Recordings

Ipod Chalk up another use for iPods (if you haven't already), as recording devices for field interviews.  The portability, relatively large storage capacity and multi-purpose functionality of the iPod makes it a suitable tool for recording audio with the use of several available microphone attachments (both stereo and mono).

The New York Times recently reviewed some iPod microphones by Belkin, Griffin Technology and XtremeMac.  If anyone has used any of these, as well as associated editing software, please post your feedback as comments.

I'd love to see a video version for decent quality field video recordings.
